The Artistry series is a celebration of the craft of whisky makers, selected from the finest distilleries in Scotland, exclusively available for the United States.

Our second release is a Speyside single cask in its purest form, celebrating the distillery Glen Moray in its ability to distill fruity, buttery single malt. While modern Glen Moray private casks are known for their experimentation with unconventional casks, we are bringing to the market a ripe-fruits-like, buttery single malt scotch that spent 17 years in a bourbon barrel. Bottled at 57.6% ABV, this Glen Moray is an excellent example of pure Speyside scotch delight.

  • Nose: A vibrant medley of ripe fruits, led by sweet peaches soaked in luscious fruit nectar. Subtle hints of waffles drizzled with syrup, lemongrass, and delicate white flowers to complete this Speyside delight.

Palate: The richness deepens in the palate, unveiling layers of grapefruit and oranges, intertwined with the crisp sweetness of apples. The fruits are complemented by almonds and a touch of sweet spice, adding depth and a luxurious creaminess to the experience.

Finish: Medium finish, with lingering notes of lemongrass and a light touch of mineral-like graphite to wrap up this juicy, fruity Glen Moray classic.

  • Glen Moray Distillery is a Speyside distillery located in Elgin, Moray, Scotland, on the banks of the River Lossie. The distillery was founded in 1897, after being converted from the Elgin West Brewery, which had been established in 1830.

After a brief silent period, the distillery was bought by Macdonald & Muir and began making whisky again in the 1920s. Today, it is owned by La Martiniquaise.

Glen Moray is known for producing single malt Scotch whisky with a signature fruitiness and buttery quality. The distillery uses American oak as a foundation but experiments with a wide variety of cask types. The distillery's manager, Graham Coull, emphasizes that Moray’s warmer microclimate at a lower level helps to enhance the oak's effects on flavor. Additionally, the low-lying dunnage warehouses, which have been known to flood, also mellow the whisky.
